Description

This grip helps to position the fingers on the pencil. For left-handers, the thumb is on the “L” print (L for left), the index finger on the opposite front print (in front of the print marked “R”) and the middle finger under the grip. Place the grip about 2 cm from the tip of the pencil, so that left-handers can see what they’re writing (the notebook being slightly inclined). The fingerprint of the grip is curved and forms a stop to prevent the fingers from sliding towards the tip when pushing the pencil to write. Left-handers “push” the pencil when writing from left to right (right-handers pull it) and the fingers tend to slide towards the tip. The fingers are then in the wrong position and it’s impossible to read what’s just been written, when switching to ink (fountain pen or rollerball). This guarantees smudges and ink streaks. The bad alternative is to tense up on the pencil to hold it firmly. This grip, drilled to 8 mm diameter, fits traditional pencils as well as crystal “bic” pens, and can be colored with nail polish to facilitate finger positioning. This grip is also suitable for right-handed users, as it is symmetrical. I’ll leave them to work out their own finger positions, though – this is a left-handed site after all!
