Bringing light-hearted content to the fascinating subject of left-handedness.As a left-handed person and the mother of two left-handed children, this subject of inclusion has always been fundamental to me.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been left-handed.
As the only left-handed child in a family of three, including a twin, I’ve never been an object of curiosity, perhaps at most of a few jibes. Nor have I ever been lucky enough to have any objects made specifically for left-handed people. I admit that I write ‘right-handed’ and that I’ve adapted. My father regularly offered me a left-handed mug or spoon, not knowing at the time that one day they’d actually exist!
Content, then, but what? As you can see, the central subject is left-handedness (a historian of left-handedness, who is himself left-handed, told me not long ago that left-handed people are egocentric about their left-handedness, which is just what we’re talking about). We’ll also be talking about left-handed contrarians, false right-handers, ambidextrous people and more, if you like.
The various articles published here will cover science, history, left-handed children or their parents, unusual or even crazy anecdotes, tips on how to become a perfect left-handed person, how to tell if you have a left-handed cat… Real news!
Gaucherie will soon be offering kitchen utensils, tools, school and office supplies and all kinds of gifts for left-handed people.
We’re obviously aimed at all left-handed people, whether they’re professional or amateur cooks, Saturday and Sunday DIY enthusiasts, everyday or one-off dressmakers, as well as parents, teachers, speech therapists, ergonomists, graphologists and all right-handed people who, despite being right-handed, love their left-handers and help them to make sure that life finally turns out the right way for them!
Our aim is to offer as wide a range of products as possible to make everyday life easier for left-handed people.
Both the essential items and the little extras that make people happy are chosen with care, are of high quality and it’s important to us that they’re not made too far away.
