Description

Genuine left-handed tailor’s scissors with reversed blade crossing and screw connection to the axle for adjustable blade tightening. Two sizes are available (20 and 27 cm). When using ordinary scissors, left-handed users tend to spread the blades apart instead of bringing them together as right-handed users do. The blades are no longer in contact, and cutting becomes difficult or impossible. If you look at the scissors, you’ll notice that the blades are slightly curved. This is normal, as the curvature means that the point of contact between the blades, and therefore the cut, extends all the way to the end of the blades. At the end of the manufacturing process, the craftsman taps each blade with a mallet to obtain this slight curvature. This operation is called “ironing”. For your information, some scissors are said to be left-handed, without the crossing of the blades being reversed. In these cases, the manufacturer has cut the rings to weld them inverted, leaving the crossing for right-handed use. This may be a solution that suits you, but honesty would dictate that they clearly display the operation, which is rarely the case. The same applies to ambidextrous scissors: the rings are symmetrical so as not to hurt the left hand, but the crossing is always right-handed. Made in Italy
